Sad News...
My friends and fellow Steven fanatics...I have some sad news to share with you.
In my mind, it's been inevitable for a little while now, but I've put off actually posting anything about it. Why, I don't know, I knew deep down my decision wasn't going to change, but I guess the thought was just so darn depressing I didn't want to commit to it by telling all of you, which is my first step. But...
I have made the decision to stop updating Steven-Strait.net.
Yes, this is close on the heels of my decisions to close TobyHemingway.net and Taylor-Kitsch.org, and while I said at that time that S-S.net would survive, I'm afraid I cannot stand by that earlier hope.
You might wonder why, but the truth is simply this. With a 32 hour job a week, three kids and a husband to keep up with, rl friends I don't get to spend very much time with anymore, and projects I've been dying to do that are still in progress on the back burners, it made the most sense to close S-S.net. I don't have the dedication to put into the site and the updates anymore, and I can't simply hand it over to someone else to maintain while it's on my server. Access to my domain won't allow that.
I want to find the ambition and drive to continue on my "Legacy" sequel...it's been sitting, barely started because I've felt so overwhelmed by everything else. I *AM* going to open a 'Covenant' fansite, so all of my Steven/Caleb worship will transfer to there. Those are the two main internet focal points I want to hold to. You have no idea how guilty I feel when great people like Melissa email me updates and places to find pics and I don't have the energy to look into them and add them to the site. It's a disgrace for me to go to the site and see how long it's been since it's last been updated, when I said that it would be frequently updated upon its redesign and renovation.
With that explained, S-S.net will remain open but this is the explanation that it is no longer being updated. This will be until the domain expires next year...there's a long way to go for that. That being said, however, I will not discount the possibility of the right and driven individual to "adopt" it from me, if you will, and take it upon themselves to take the site and give it new life which I cannot give to it any longer. Anyone that might be interested in this can email me, but unless it happens, it will remain on my server and no longer updated.
You may also be wondering about the forum. I love everyone there, so the forum *will* remain open, with or without the site. The same goes for the photo gallery. I recommend you bookmark both the gallery and forum URLs for easier access should the site disappear one day (you never know), but it will be only occasionally monitored by me. You can still message me here and whatnot, but I won't be checking it too often, so I would recommend sending any correspondence to mlg@passionedsoul.com, as my stevenfan@passionedsoul.com address will be going away in the near future.
Any questions on this, don't hesitate to ask, I'll answer as best as I can. I will not change my mind about the final decision I have made, but I hope you all will understand where I'm at with it.
